Successful fall show

Thank you to the many people who came by our fall show this past weekend. On our opening night, we had about 100 people stop by to enjoy the art, the music, and the atmosphere. A good time was had by all! Thanks to all who made it happen.

Sunday afternoon was also well attended, in spite of the fact that the Roughriders’ game was on that afternoon. And they won!

Our next artistic venture that is on the calendar will be the show at the Muttart Conservatory in June 2010. We will keep you updated on any other activities as well.

Our annual show is coming up soon!

We have finally set our dates for our annual fall show. Our opening reception will be Saturday night, November 20, from 7- 10 pm, followed by Sunday afternoon, November 21, from noon to 4:30 pm.

Check back for more details as we get closer to the date. We are trying something new this year, so hope that you will come out and see us.

Current showings of our works

Currently, we have a small show of our works at the Off Broadway Theatre, during the run of its final play, Soup du Jour. Sadly, OBT will be closing its doors after this production, so we hope you can take in the show. We were fortunate to be able to participate in this by having our paintings show during this time.

Also, we continue to show our works at Stantec, in the Buckwold Building on 24th St (entrance is on 24th, facing The Ivy) in Saskatoon. It is open during business hours, and the public is welcome to go in and see the small show we have there. We are continually changing the pieces hanging there, so there is often some new pieces to see.

We are planning for a fall art event and will post information when we have more specific details.

Mendel Members Art Show and Sale 2009

The Mendel Member’s Showcase, their 5th Annual, will be held in the lower hall of the gallery from Friday June 5 to Sunday June 21 during gallery hours.

This year, there will be an opening reception for the public and artists at 8 pm, Friday, June 5. Several of the group’s members will have pieces in the show again this year. We hope that you will have time to drop by – it is always a good show and has unfortunately been underplayed for the past couple of years. This year the Mendel seems to be making a better go at advertising.

Ongoing shows

The Escape Artists as a group have an ongoing show at Stantec Architecture in Saskatoon, at 75 24th Street East, on the main floor of the Buckwald Building. The public can view the show during office hours, from Monday to Friday. The show will remain on display until early April.

Several of the members of the group also have pieces showing at the current ‘Branching Out’ show at Willow Studio in Saskatoon, at 142 2nd Ave N. This show runs until March 16.

We held our fall show for four days this year, as the dates fell on the November 11. We had a great turnout for our opening night, with music by Ben Dobni. It was an enjoyable evening, with good art, food, music and friends. Thanks to all who came and made it fun. Photos will be up on our flickr site, so check them out too.

We will be painting away all winter, and will plan on a show in the spring. So check back from time to time to see dates and any other activities we get up to.

Fall Show and Sale – ‘Art Presence’

We will be holding our second annual autumn Fine Art Show and Sale at the Art au Jus Gallery. The title of this show is ‘Art Presence‘.

The show will run from Saturday Nov 8 to Tuesday Nov 11. The Art au Jus Gallery is at 539 24th Street East, just off Spadina, the small white house behind the Knox United Church. As this will coincide with the Remembrance Day Long Weekend, we will offer our show for two additional days.

This show, we will donate 10% from all sales to Persephone Theatre in support of our community.

Saturday will be our opening night reception, from 7 – 10 pm, with music by Ben Dobni.

Sunday we will be open from noon to 4 pm.

Monday we will be open from 2 – 8 pm

Tuesday we will be open for our final day from noon to 4 pm.

Mendel Art Gallery Members’ Show and Sale

Several of the Escape Artists have paintings in the 4th annual Members’ Show and Sale at the Mendel Art Gallery. The show runs in the downstairs room of the gallery, during regular gallery hours, from May 30 to June 13. Come by and see.

A group show at Circle Centre Mall

Right now we have a small group show at the Royal Gallery of the Circle Centre Mall galleries, just near the theatres. It is on until June 22, so we hope you will have a chance to go by.
