Thanks to everyone who came out and made our third annual ‘Art by the Hearth’ show a success. Lots of visitors, cooperative weather, and good companions made for an enjoyable weekend.

You can see some photos on our flickr link to the left.

We wish you all a Happy Holiday and all the best for 2012!

This month the Escape Artists were able to get together a couple of times and make some plans for the fall.

First, Linda has returned to Costa Rica, and will be back in December, with some new works based on her life in the jungle and mountains there.

Second, Michelle has begun a new venture, a framing business, called ‘Framer’s Edge’. It is now open in the Glengarry Building, 245 3rd Ave S, 5th floor. She is now open for business and will be having a Grand Opening on October 21st and 22nd. Be sure to check out the great stairwell.

Third, the Escape Artists will have their 3rd Annual ‘Art by the Hearth’ fine art show and sale on December 9 and 10. Mark your calendars. Details will follow soon.

So things are happening for the Escape Artists this autumn. We hope you have been enjoying our spectacular weather!

Our second annual ‘Art by the Hearth’ will be held December 4 and 5 this year.

The show will be from 11 am to 5pm on December 4, and from noon to 4:30 pm on December 5.

At our show there will be a wide variety of art works, including paintings, sculpture, reproductions, cards and calendars.

The show will be held again at 1125 13th Street East. We hope you can come and enjoy the show!

On Thursday, Bonnie and Lorraine drove up to Edmonton to put up our group show at the Muttart Conservatory. It was great fun to do a road trip like that. The show looks great in its location in the main hall. From the hall, people go to each of the four glass pyramids. Each pyramid houses a different environment with plants appropriate to that climate. It is a lovely place to visit.

Photos of the show in place are here on our flickr site (or click below). The show is on until August 13, so if you are passing through Edmonton, please stop by for a visit.

We are very pleased that we are the first to show in the Hilton Garden Inn Lounge in Saskatoon. The manager has decided that they are going to showcase local artists in the Lounge. Our group member, Jeannette Lussier will be the liaison between the hotel and artists/groups for future shows.

This space is well lit, both day and evening and will be a great opportunity for local artists to showcase their work to an ever changing group of people. Although the Garden Inn Lounge is open for service in the evenings, people are free to go into the Lounge to view the artworks at any time. Just walk through the Main Floor restaurant, The Great North American Grill, right by the reception desk.

The show is on now, until October 14, 2010. You can see photos by clicking on the flickr link to the right. We hope you drop by!

Our show at the Muttart Conservatory in Edmonton is just two weeks away! It is called ‘No Straight Edges’. Here is our poster that will be outside the show.

We hope that if you are in Edmonton over the summer, you will be able to stop by and see the show. It is there until August 13.
